Patch 0.1.1 alive!
Hey all,
Based on the feedback given I decided to create a fix / patch to address few issues with the game. Since this is a UDC game jam entry I will only added some fixes. Bigger updates are due to after the jam has officially ended. If you have some great ideas how to make this game better, please, comment below!
This I have addressed in the patch:
1. More consistent pushing mechanics. The "boxes" or limestone blocks (if you will) can be pushed in the game. This was originally one of the ideas to make puzzles so some places could be reached out only by pushing these blocks around. Yet, sometimes players were not able to push those boxes. This happened because the player was already too close to the box and it required a one frame for player to not to do anything. If player approached the box from the side this worked well, but it could be that player landed from the air next to the box or dropped on top of the box next to it. These cases sometimes yielded different results. Now it should work consistently the same.
Also when being in "push mode" and snake approaching you were required to stop pushing and then move / jump. Now pressing jump while pushing stops the pushing immediately allowing better maneuverability of the player.
2. Hard jumps on the level 3. Some players have complained about the insanely hard jumps on the level 3. I have toned down the difficulty of new jumps in level 3. The last and hardest is still very hard, but now better achievable and doable. Hope this makes it easier!
