Last update on the works
Hello everyone,
I am working on the last update for this game. I have made a decision that I will do the last update for the game after which I don't work on the game any more. This then adds up to 3 updates which puts me in the position where I originally wanted to be with the game. It's been difficult to find time and motivation to work with the updates as there's very little activity nor feedback. Therefore I will focus on some other things I am working on and maybe one of those be more successful in terms of activity.
So, this is just an general announcement of the things to come. Of course, would there be some magical event that people would like to see more, then I can consider, but otherwise I just keep the game alive as it is.
So, what's on the radar?
1. I originally thought this game would be very good match for the mobile platform. And while I still do think so, I just don't want to go to the extra mile of creating mobile builds, having accounts at Apple Store and Play Store. But because of the above, the game resolution, or to be more precise the aspect ratio was designed for mobile (portrait). This of course wasn't a great match for Itch.io which is accessed by desktops on web. So, I will convert the game's aspect ratio to landscape to match the current platform better. This isn't such a great effort, but hopefully makes it more enjoyable and accessible.
2. Color themes. I originally planned to support different color themes and backgrounds. I am now implementing as it was half done. This is just eye candy and polish but now I can properly have better distinction between the levels.
3. Since the game is very casual and accessible. I was thinking to add some fun twist to the world to make it more interesting. This is where I need your help. I am planning to add an enemy of some sort. A think that moves across the level which you have to avoid. This changes the game quite a bit, and I am not sure if this is a good thing or not. But idea is to add more variance to the game play. If the enemy plays great and adds value I could add another booster which gives you the power to destroy the enemy by hitting it. Like a shield or something. What do you think of the idea?
I have created a level editor for the game which makes it really easy for me to add any number of levels really fast. I intend to support the changes in the level editor as well. I am really happy how this makes it possible for me to create new content. Unfortunately it hasn't been needed :'( (as per low activity of plays)
Anyway. If you are a fan of the game, I would really like to hear what you think of all of the above. I am planning to finish this in few weeks since I am now on my holiday and I have more time to work on personal projects.
